Cultural Diversity Through Food

Lizzie displays a delicious dish from Italy.

Pupils in Year 8 Technology make a meal or dish to illustrate the cultural characteristics of a named cultural group. They also mount a display of information and artefacts on their chosen culture, and produce a folder of information on factors which may have had some influence on the food grown and consumed by the culture.

This is my delicious Greek meal -a salad- Spanakotyropittakia and cucumber sauce. I really enjoyed making it!

This is my meal. For starters - melon and cherries, and then spaghetti bolognese.

  Elizabeth made traditional English fare: a potato dish with cheese, and mouth- watering eccles cakes from Lancashire.

My meal consisted of Southern fried chicken and corn on the cob. I chose corn because it's the main crop of the USA. Afterwards, I made blueberry muffins. This would be an evening meal - the main meal of the day.

I made Tandori Chicken, and Pineapple ice cream. This is common in India because it's a hot starter and a cold pudding which is smooth in the mouth.
